Many People wish to own homes but the desire and need is more for refugees!!

mr-kinuthia-signs-agreement-for-support-in-purchasing-plotSince “Operation Rudi Nyumbani”(return home programme) for mr-kinuthia-receives-money-for-purchase-of-plot-that-he-further-hands-over-to-officials-for-the-purchase-of-plotIDPs started , many families have returned to their former homes while others access their farms from satellite camps near their farms.  Unfortunately not all IDP families had homes or farms to return to. Some of them lived as squatters on other people’s farms or rented residences.  When the violence broke out they lost most of belongings and have no homes to return to. Many are still languishing in IDP camps.


Necessity is the mother of innovation.  When the government paid Kshs 10,000 per family token money to assist the IDPs in resettlement, those at Molo Saw Mill Camp decided to pool this money and work towards purcase of residential plot for each family.

This first payment forms part payment for the residential plots at Mitoni farm and Kibunja.  girl-spinicah-moraa-signs-agreement-for-support-in-purchasing-plotThe other balance they will pay after they receive further support from government or well-wishers.
